At first glance Virgil Locket, a 5-foot-3-inch, 133-pound kinesiology major appears to be serene and reserved, but once he is on the wrestling mat, complete with his dragon-eyed tattoo watching his back, his silent fury is unleashed upon all opponents.

This was it. It was the last home game this season for the top 20 nationally ranked SF State softball team. And for four graduating seniors, it was the last time they would ever play on Gator soil.

The SF State softball team extended their winning streak to five by successfully defending their home turf on Friday in a doubleheader against the Cal State Monterey Bay Otters.

The Office of Student Programs Leadership and Development (OSPLD) along with the Bay Area chapter of the American Red Cross came together to raise funds for the victims of Hurricane Katrina on Friday afternoon at Malcolm X Plaza.

After three straight postponed games, the SF State softball team finally played on Monday against the Cal State Stanislaus Warriors under less than favorable weather conditions.
